For those not in the know this guy took a hokey radio show in my former Detroit market and launched it nationwide. A typical song would begin with his baritone drippy dialogue "Mary in Des Moines, Bill misses you and sends you this song..." Oh we all made fun of Alan Almond and he was spoofed by comedians etc, but that's the sincerest form of flattery. You'll be missed Alan Almond, and your sap.
