A great musician, but a total creep- I am sure they were stoking the fires for him!

The celebrated German opera singer, Christa Ludwig, has died at the age of 93.

The mezzo-soprano, who was born in Berlin, died at her home near the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Saturday, her family confirmed.

Ludwig made her debut in Frankfurt aged 18 just after the end of World War Two. She retired in 1994.

One of Britains leading opera directors Graham Vick has died aged 67 as a result of complications arising from covid 19 infection. 

 

 

In case you are wondering, Vick was not vaccinated and contracted COVID during a vacation in Greece.

Can't find a single mention of him on the Forum ever, which is surprising given his prominence and age, but anyway...

There's a big centennial celebration scheduled in 2026 for him. I guess he won't be attending then?
