Toast 16,152 Posted August 5, 2020 I may as well say this here as anywhere else. I hate the use of surnames only when referring to people in articles and reports. It seems so cold and disrespectful. It can also be unnecessarily confusing when more than one person with the same family name is involved. Surely much clearer to use the full name for the first mention, and subsequently forenames. I know it's not the done thing to say , committed suicide' these days as that dates back to when suicide was a crime but 'died by suicide' sounds ridiculous. Referred to Sporting Chance and I doubt he's the only singles sportsman who'll have been hit really hard by the mass cancellation of tournaments and events in 2020. Darts, snooker, golf, tennis, boxing... I'm willing to bet we'll see a few suicides from the lower-echelons of these sports within the next 12 months.
