Former big league pitcher Scott Sanderson has died at the age of 62.  He was 163-143 over the course of a long, solid career that began in 1978 and ended in 1996, putting up a 3.84 career ERA.  He made the AL All-Star Team in 1991.  I don't see any details or cause of death yet, but the Angels announced it on their Twitter feed.

More importantly to me he was a Montreal Expo.

Surprised it penetrated the thick steroid epidermal layer.

Pumpsie Green, the first African-American player on the Boston Red Sox, has died at the age of 85.

Green was drafted onto the team in 1959 and played for the Red Sox until 1962. He played one more season after on the New York Mets before retiring.

He was the last MLB player born in the 1910s. Oldest now was born Nov 1920 (14 month jump).

Also, looks like he died from a heart attack 10 days short of his 100th birthday. That’s a total c**t... so far, so close but no cigar.

EDIT: an excuse to use this...

For about 13 years, the oldest living MLB player always died a centenarian, including those who weren't actually 100 at the time they got the title. But Bobby Doerr broke that streak, and of the three to die since him, only one was a centenarian.

He's also the second significant Tom Jordan to die in 58 days, though DL search indicates no one ever posted the Irish actor who died in June
