Ed Napoleon, a key member of Johnny Oates staff during the Rangers first three AL West titles, died April 28th. He was 82. His death is being reported today (July 22nd). Napoleon spent 15 years as a minor league player during a career in baseball that spanned 45 years. He was instrumental in developing multi-sport talent Bo Jackson, among others.  (Yes, there's probably a surname joke in there somewhere.)

Wow! 4 DDP hits for me in August since he died on Monday.

Makes it easier to work out the August player of the month! Anything below 32 points is gone.

Paul Pettit, the first person to receive a six figure signing bonus from a Major League Baseball team, but whose career only lasted 12 games over two seasons, has died. He was 88. Pettit was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates and played all 12 games with that franchise. His career was cut short by a serious elbow injury.

I don't think this is a notable-enough death for the COVID-19 thread, but former Dodgers and Yankees World Series winner Jay Johnstone has passed away of COVID-19 complications at the age of 74.  He had been suffering from dementia for a few years and died in a nursing home.  RIP.
