I think he should get a higher position on next years list.It is clear he will never recover well from surgery now and he sounded very frail on the phone when Ronnie died

Not being able to do the Xmas Strictly may tip him over the edge.

Aye, but we're grasping at straws here, right?

Is his first wife still breathing in Brinsworth House?

Similar pricnciple to Leonard Cohen. If he can't perform at all his spirit will fade. Once the spirit goes the body soon follows.

He strikes me as a December death. Don't know which year though.

I am amazed at how much he has deteriorated in the last year. He was still dancing about up u ntil a year ago. I saw him living to 100 like George Burns.

I don't see the analogy with Leonard Cohen. Cohen was all about creativity, not performance. He wasn't a confident performer, and only toured in recent years because he needed the money. But he was working on new songs right up to his death, and released a new album only a few weeks before.

In fairness Brucie was originally done 18 years ago, his comeback in 2002ish was truly stunning because it looked like he'd already been consigned to the golf course.

If they announced that some utter idiot had been given the new presenter's job on Strictly - that'd kill him, right?

What about...we work up some spurious Facebook news suggesting Mike Yarwood has got the gig so long as he agrees to dust off his old Brucie impression?
