Near misses 2006

Former leader of China Sun Yun-suan.

Not quite - Republic of China, ie. Taiwan. If he was a former leader of China, the world news would be dominated by his death.

Hmmmmm...my bad. But, point of order, China lost a former Premier, Zhao Ziyang, and while he did get an obit in the Washington Post, it didn't dominate world headlines.

Here's one from the BBC about Jackie Pallo

Cheers Phantom, much appreciated. I wonder if this will be the start of the famous wrestlers of the 60's popping off. Mick Mcmanus must be kickin' 80 by now, eh?

Just found a Telegraph link

I couldn't find much information on Mick McManus, just that his birthday is January 11th but no year listed.

I'll google a bit more to see if I can find more stuff on him

Even when the cold war was on, it was still a load of crap.

It was about as useful as "Protect & Survive"

Hiding under your desk during a nuclear attack wouldn't do you much good

As far as I can tell this person hasn't even got a UK obituary,

so definitely not up to DeathList standards.

Well, another person representing a miscalculation is Lynden David Hall, who eventually succumbed to lymphoma.

Well, only if you're a Babylon 5 fan. I've never heard of him & what's more, not one person on the DDP chose him either. A complete unknown in the UK bar a niche group really.
