2007 DL Nominations Please

Recommended Posts

2006 has undoubtedly been a good yera for Deathlist. However they havent had much look on their old Hollywood film star picks. I cant see either Fontaine or Dehavilland shuffling off just yet.

Better picks would be Luise Rainer- Born 1910, double Oscar winner

Gloria Stuart- Born 1910, Rose in Titanic

Tony Martin- Into his 90s now

Lena Horne- 90 this year, apparently in ill health

I successfully guessed Jane Wyatt and June Allyson wouldlnt make 2007 but would anyone listen no

Other Hollywood maybes would be Esther Williams, Charlton Heston, Kirk Douglas, Doris Day, Maureen O'hara, Cyd Charrisse, Deborah Kerr, Eli Wallach, Phylliss Diller, Googie Withers, Dulcie Grey, Jean Simmons, Kitty Carlilse, Charles Lane, Janis Paige, Jane Wyman, Celeste Holm.

Run Run Shaw: 100 year old Asian media mogul. Famous enough to count for our purposes and the kind of character who might prompt some interesting debate, a la Al Lewis, since his surprising traits include patronage of education.

But fit as a fiddle & still partying, as proved on my post about him last month. Leave well alone, Deathlist, leave well alone.

Aye, point taken OoO our record with those over 100 isn't great. Hoffman, Astor this year being cases in point.

I had a dream a couple of nights ago about wanting to put Malcolm Allison on here, so maybe I'd put his name forward!

A new and very respectful member, I think it appropriate to play myself in carefully, exposing the organisation to a minimum of risk.

May I therefore suggest that Mr Fidel Castro currently displays many of the hallmarks of suitability for inclusion in the 2007 list ? Should circumstances prematurely exclude his participation, may we call upon in reserve John Mortimer, Baroness Thatcher and, alas, John le Carré ? This latter trio would seem to have at least reasonable and developing prospects of fulfilment.

May I please request that CLS retain a position on our humble list? It would be a sad, sad thing to see him gone from here.

I maintain full and enduring faith that our beloved Admin/Mods/Decision-makers-extraordinaire will make the 2007 list a spectacular list indeed.

10. Lindsey Lohan (She's not doing too well)

Once years ago Lindsey Lohan lived across the street from me. It was mid June and I was riding my bicycle to school and trying to catch up with a friend, Lindsey stepped out on the walk and before I knew it she was laying on the ground sobbing. Her mother ran out screaming and I could only speed away.

And I don't think Lindsey Lohan will drop dead anytime soon.
