Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted November 19, 2004 Nope, Herr Schmelling is still standing in the 15th, although hanging onto the ropes I fear. Welcome to Deathlist...you can learn something new every day. (usually new forms of violent abuse)
Guest Banshees Scream Posted November 25, 2004 I think that Schmeling was not on hitlers side and that he was a fairly good man i dont want to see him die i hope he make his 100th birthday he allso paid for joe louis's funeral but i think the best quote for him when he dies which is just simply TKO
Typhoid Harry 23 Posted November 25, 2004 Now GR's I get.TH's I don't. Is that the English Civil War by chance ? As if England wasn't involved in the US Civil War... You know, it just occurred to me that I never really answered the question, did I? During the American Civil War there were two major battles at Bull Run (Manassas to my Southern brethren) and, fittingly, they are referred to as the first and second Battle of Bull Run. There is a famous fraud case (immortalized in a childrens' book) where a commemorative sword, supposedly awarded shortly after the first battle, but before the second, was sold to a collector for an absurd amount. The collector failed to realize it was a fake, even though the engraving referred to the 1st Battle of Bull Run and was dated before anyone could have known there would be a second. Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted November 26, 2004 A bit like the signed Jimi Hendrix album that sold at auction for thousands, only for someone to point out that the cover was from a 1975 issue of the record, printed long after Mr H choked on vomit (you can't dust for vomit...) maryportfuncity 10,656 Posted December 7, 2004 Floyd Patterson - b 1935 - and the first man to regain the world heavyweight title isn't doing too well. His memory is all but gone. He might beat durable old Max to the final count.
Guest Denver Posted December 31, 2004 This thread is the place to discuss Max Schmeling. ...will fight winner of Larry Holmes v George Foreman apparently. What-ever --! Max Will Out Live Mike Tyson at least. Looking At Mike's Last Fight!
honez 79 Posted January 7, 2005 Please say something nice about my seventh cousin Max, OK? If your seventh cousin is Herr M. Schmeling, then I'll say something nice... He used to be very good at beating the crap out of other people (who were also very good at beating the crap out of other people). In fact, the better they were, the more he'd love to beat the crap out of them. He was good like that. He used to like to share his love of boxing around--you wouldn't even have to ask; he'd just show you how good he was with his fists. That's how nice he was. Nice enough for ya? Guest Richard Chang Posted January 7, 2005 I never knew the story of Max Schmeling until last night when I watched it on the History Channel. I was very impressed by his story and what a man he was, not just an athletic champion, but a true Human Champion also. I was fascinated by the fact that a man who lived thru much History and was part of it is still alive and that he had a happy life, which he deserved. I can not believe the world has forgotten him and that really makes you think, here is a man who was at he center of world history and survived it s most horrible times and retained his Humanity and Dignity. Boy he is Man at his Best...I hope his spirit lives on for Ever

This man says Schmeling wasn't Hitler's underwear after all. "Really, I hate those lunatics who automatically associate anything German with Nazis. In my opinion, U.S. Americans are much better Nazis." I think he probably really is quite angry. Seems to have a complex about something. And he doesn't like us. Larry Pestilence III 6 Posted January 14, 2005 Beat me to the translation... The (missed) point is "Max Schmeling - Hitler's Boxer or maybe not?". Without this website and forum I would never have read about Max Schmeling and his very impressive and courageous deeds... Sigh.

Tuber Mirum 125 Posted January 14, 2005 was hat max schmeling mit hitler zu tun?ungefähr so viel wie ich!also gar nichts. Mr. Germany (watch out, could be a body-building champion) doesn't think Schmeling had anything to do wth Hitler.
Grim Reaper 186 Posted January 14, 2005 Well we've had the debate before and we've all learned that Max is pretty courageous guy and quite an anti-Nazi hero...however the point that cannot be disputed is that Hilter certainly tried to use him for his own objectives and, frankly, if DL readers weren't sure who he was, the description jogs the minds perfectly. Now, as for Prince Harry...
