Brutal, man, brutal. Having spent the last 5 hours reading this entire thread in a single sitting, do I qualify for some kind of award (Idiot of the Year?) or perhaps some medical/psychiatric help? After some slight dozing at around pages 67-70, I got my second wind until Clarissa/Rebecca/Am I Dead Yet showed up and made the last 25 pages feel akin to a marathon runner hitting 'the wall'.

 

Still, having conquered the DL's Everest, I feel much more at home in this forum now (what has happened to former Dickie O stalwarts such as pulphack, millwall, bennett cerf etc?) and can't wait to get cracking on the f*****g Pope.

Finding the Brinsworth House thread closed for repairs and the Fluff thread not to my preference, news of the blue plaque ceremony'll have to be deposited here.

 

I'm sure they locked Dickie in his room to avoid embarrassment but I reckon if you look closely you can just see him peering out of the window, bottle in hand, to the left of Frank Carson's head. No, more closely than that.

 

Not a single picture of anyone looking remotely ill or even particularly old unfortunately, we'll have to wait for the outtakes to appear.

Interesting that R O'S doesn't appear to be there anywhere.

I have to say that Sally Thomsett still looks absolutely doable in that picture. The sands of time have indeed been kind to her. Either that or the surgeon's knife has.

 

The same however can not be said of our hero, who looks as though he was in the throes of another stroke- although, to give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he's been so long out of the limelight that he's forgotten how to pose for the camera.

I am well aware of that.

 

You didn't say anything about her not looking good at all, rather, you inferred that Dicky O' looked hot for an ill person.

 

All I was suggesting was that since I go for 21 year olds from the Railway Children (thanks, Hacky) and you go for ill people who look good, Dicky O' would be more your bag should we ever end up in the improbable situation where we are both out on the lash and end up bumping into Dicky and Sally and they suggest we swing.

If it's true that he used to read this (perhaps still does), he may just keep himself alive by sheer force of will to spite everyone on here. In the past year he's done the odd bit of work and generally bugger all else which, even for a man with his medical past, probably means that he could go on indefinitely.

 

Bet he doesn't get much in residuals from all those MATH and Robins Nest re-runs on Paramount, though.

He's not that well Pulphack. His agent - on his behalf - turned down a radio play that would have involved him turning up, sitting down, and reading his part. Dickie O never got to see the script because the agent nixed the deal on the grounds of his health. Must've been the right call health wise because the agent would've been in for - probably - 15% of the fee and could have been expected to persuade yer man if he was well enough.
