That would be cartoonistic miscegination, Quick Draw McGraw!

Hanna-Barberra output very little actual violence. I suppose that's one reason this guy is still around: peace at heart.

Huckleberry Hound... Boo-Boo... Ranger Smith.... the horse named above that was a peacekeeping sheriff.

Pretty mild stuff they made. I am that generation that got it all first run. Mild me molded by that mild man? Maybe, mmm, maybe.

Can't bring up a single memorable Hanna-Barbera comic situation! AH, but Road Runne? Bugs B? All the whacko sharp 'toon's give us really great inked in mental tatoos.

Felix the cat the wonderful wonderful cat

you'll laugh so hard your sides will ache

whenver he reaches into his bag of trick

Felix the cat was no Warner Bros. or even Hanna Barbera cartoon. Boring crappy pidddle.

GET the late resurrection of Felix "the twisted tales of Felix the Cat" on DVD for real quality, wonderfully sharp humor animation.

i digressssssss until deattttttthhhhh.

Five Readers Died in Dis-pect of dis Post! :(

After passing out for 3 hours i have had a series of dreams, in

which one surrounded the likes of the well - respected cartoonist

Joseph Barbera.

In this dream i was checking my mail and i could cleary see

i had a unusual high of about 5 messages. The first i believe

was about Barbera. There was another character named but

who the individual was is a bit sketchy. :angel3:

The dream wasn't exsactly based on death but since he is

a canidate i think it's fair to say he's certainly a suspect in

the eyes of Banshees Scream.

"You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!"

As said - I'm clearly not 100% percent sure this dream was

death related like the Wiesenthal dream, but i'm inclined to

think he is a suspect.

We shall see Slave..

Someone should petition the BBC to bring back Tom and Jerry, the best thing H&B ever did (only those under Fred Quimby though). If they cut out all their self-promoting ads and those bloody dancers and played the odd T&J cartoon instead, life would be much better.

For the second time i've dreamt of the demise of cartoonist Joseph Barbera.

The first dream seemed unclear but this dream was anything but sketchy.

don't give fred quimby any credit for t&j under anyone. apparently he was a miserable old sod who never understood why t&j were funny, and was permanently in a sulk because he'd been appointed producer on an animation unit and not on pictures with real live actors (i know, hard as it is to digest, t&j weren't real). but, on reflection, perhaps we should be glad that he left h&b alone as look at the mess chuck jones (otherwise a flawless producer) made of t&j when he was sic'ed on 'em.

bill and joe (as we call them around here) were great businessmen first and artists eighty-second: those bloody awful recycled backgrounds and ten-frames-a-second jerkiness. a lot of it looks dog rough when you watch it on boomerang next to looney tunes, t&j, or tex avery.

but hey, he invented hong kong phooey and he's over 90 - i should be so lucky.

Joseph Barbera directing a new Tom and Jerry cartoon.

After a long period of quiet, looks like Barbera has gotten back into the news-making game. :banghead:
