Of course, it does mean we will all miss her classic carry-on style lines, especially 'Has anyone seen my Willie?' Whenever I heard that, I always had this weird image in my mind that she had escaped from the 'Lady Boys of Bangkok Retirement Home', and dementia had started to set in

I'm sure if asked, she would say acting is all about the craft - but you are right, it probably all boils down to the money, although with repeat fees for all the reruns they show on BBC4, she should be rolling in it...
I'm sure if she ever gets stuck, young Clive can help her out

It must be something in the family genes, as Clive Dunn certainly looks younger now than when he appeared in Dad's Army, and that was 30+ years ago!
Yes i am sad, i saw Gretchen Franklin in a 1980's episode of eastenders, called eastenders on holiday, on UK GOLD today. I think she looked older then than she does now.
