How did Anna Wing look. She's one of my bets for 2006.

One of the last remaining originals from the 1987 deathlist.

I see from the Wiki, that she is a cousin of the actor Clive Dunn, no less. Perhaps a bit of family competitiveness might be triggered.

She should be immortal then.

Now it's on the BBC.

Gretchen Franklin, known to millions as EastEnders' Ethel

Skinner, has died - four days after her 94th birthday.

Franklin was an Albert Square fixture from 1985 to 2000,

eventually leaving in an euthanasia storyline that saw friend

Dot Cotton helping Ethel to die.

"I will miss her very much," said actress June Brown, who

plays Dot in the BBC soap. "She always soldiered on, never

complaining.

"She seemed such an indomitable person you felt she would

go on forever."

At last! A deathlist success. Shouldn't there be an announcement on the front page?:rip::rip:

Slow down slow down, the world of admin. is a hectic whirl of frivolity and pleasure. They don't have time between dining on roast swan and swimming in asses milk to keep an eye on the site 24 hours a day.

I see we are No. 1 result on a Google search for Gretchen Franklin.

So we could be in for a minor Emlyn Effect later on.

Sorry.

And wasn't it just the other day I was up in arms about people not reading the thread before posting?

I am prepared to tender my resignation if that it the will of the Party.

How long have you been waiting for the opportunity to use that one, Mr Honez?

A very capable actress.

Saw her in an episode of "Rising Damp" just the other night playing Rigsby's aunt. The episode was from 1978 and she hardly looked any different!

I remember she also played a very good minor part in the very first episode of "The Black Adder" (i.e. "Blackadder" series 1, episode 1) as one of 3 witches.
