Don Arden legendary rock manager and recently most famous as Sharon Osbourne's dad.

I mentioned him as a possible in 2005, but alas didn't take take my own advice, just like with Nigel Kneale... :banghead:

Abdullah Mehsud top Taliban guy. Suicide, BBC write up, would've been a real points bonanza on the right DP. Dontcha just hate it when that happens.

The kerrazy world of Norwegian rawk is going through traumatic times. Hot on the (winged, stacked) heels of the passing of Madrugada's 'mercurial guitarist' Robert Buras comes the terrible news that Pagan's Mind axemeister Thorstein Aaby has also big-willy soloed his last.

Please God, let Turbonegro's Knut Schreiner be spared your vengeful wrath.

Uruguayan Danny Bergara, legendary former Stockport County manager, has died:

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/26072007/1/h...rgara-dies.html

He was the first ever foreign (i.e. from outside the UK and Ireland) manager in English football when he took over at Rochdale in 1988.

A great character who will be sorely missed!

Slightly more detail here

Laszlo Kovacs something to do with movies

Already done here (sorry, I did cut and paste to get the exact spelling "László Kovács" - may have buggered the search facility!)

What a terrible shame & another death completely out of the blue. He was indeed a great character, but also a good man, and, especially at the level he was in, an extremely competent & able manager.

He will indeed be sorely missed :rip:

Well now, if we're starting to list people who aren't dead, how about this chap:

Neil Preston, "Man who died five times praises hospital"

"He jokes about his tattoos - two horses on his stomach that have no hooves thanks to surgery - and his navel is now on his right side"

I wish him well!

hello one and all on this glorious flood ravanged day! This is my first post on DL. I have been a avid watcher over the last 8months (i have to say the tammy saga was very enthralling and i bet larry king is rubbing his hands at snatching the last interview in the face of death itself)

News came to light today while on my way to work whilist listening to a popular radio broadcasting station, i believe it coul dbe revelutionary to DL if we can get hold of the thing in question. Im refering to Oscar.

Oscar is a cat! He however has the ability to predict death. THis amazing cat has been found in a care home in America. Hours before death opens the gates oscar will tenderly curl up on the victims lap, little does the victim know that darkness is a mere few hours away.

An interesting read and a potential DL secret weapon!!

"He did two gigs back to back yesterday, not bad for a 79-year-old. But he went to bed and just didn't wake up"

BBC report

He had a place round the corner from my uncles in Spain. Nice bloke, exactly like his screen persona in real life. (My uncle's also with the choir invisible)
