Townie - you are a jackass.

Come, come,Mr. Pooka.

He could just be an American.

Jealous of those who are better than you?

Or scared of those who are worse?

I resemble that remark.

Damian McDonald, an Australian cyclist who won gold at the 1994 Commonwealth Games has come to a crispy end in a "horrific seven car fireball" in Melbourne.

at least the "Burnley Tunnel" was aptly named

To myself, for myself what's the difference?

Ah yes, a sign of madness ;)

Spotted that article earlier but haven't actually found any other confirmation, not that I wouldn't believe Wikipedia...

Yep, forgot to log in again at lunchtime ;)

Ancient Cuban musician Faustino Oramas, one of the last remaining stars of the acclaimed Buena Vista Social Club, has died at an uncertain age

While documents record his birth as in 1911, Oramas was never sure of his exact age. Some say he was as old as 103.

Also joining him in the queue at the pearly gates, former Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wales John Aloysius Ward has popped off at the age of 78. ;)

I had no idea he was ill. In fact, to be fair, "obscure" fits the bill, as we didn't know an awful lot about his current activities. Decent hill climber, but his career at top level was relatively undistinguished.

Proof, by the way

here and here.

More press coverage than I would've expected.

So no "damn" and "blast" but a "oh, that's a shame" from OoO.

;)

TIP: The last three F1 drivers to die (Reggazoni, de Graffenried & Schiller) have all been Swiss. If I were you put your money on the next driver to go than you could do worse than go for Swiss driver Heini Walter to go next. He's 79, fat & hasn't been in brilliant health.

Abe Coleman, believed to be the oldest professional wrestler at the time, is dead aged 101. Coleman's nicknames included Hebrew Hercules and Jewish Tarzan. An interesting man I'm sure.

"Maurice Flitcroft, the former Vickers crane driver who conned his way into the Open Golf Championship and shot a record high round of 121, has died at the age of 77."

Nice story! The guy obviously had balls! (excuse the golfing pun!)

He has a Wikipedia entry also.

Are "Jewish" and "Hebrew" not Politically Correct?

That's disturbing.

Have I already mentioned that I detest Political Correctness as hipocrisy?

To some people probably not, likely to be a non Jewish person, likely to work for some left wing council and have too much time on their hands. Reminds me of the Gulf War in 1991, when Massive Attack changed their name to Massive so as not to offend anyone. Funny, I found the dead children I kept seeing on TV each night due to another well aimed cruise missile more offensive than the name Massive Attack.

Fay Coyle, who played in the 1958 World Cup Finals for Northern Ireland, has died, only a few days after their magnificent victory over the country where the 1958 Finals were held, Sweden. Hopefully Northern Ireland will qualify for the 2008 European Championships as a tribute.

Couple more deaths to report, of most contrasting reasons for fame:-

The Bangladeshi terrorist, Bangla Bhai aka Siddiq - ul - Islam has been executed, along with his cronies. UK Obit too...

A unique hit for No Noose is Good Noose on DDP, but it may be their last hit as none of the US guys seem to muster obits.

and Franco Cosimo Panini, one of the founders of the Panini sticker books loved by millions of schoolkids, myself included has come unstuck.
