We are getting rain falling onto frozen ground making it a nightmare to walk anywhere, the rain is just not warm enough to melt the ice.

The family of Bob Becker says the longtime Knoxville meteorologist has died.

Becker, 64, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday morning, according to his brother.

Bob joined WATE-TV on December 1998 and worked with us for 12 years.

Fuck Essex.

I’d love some proper snow for a change. We got a mere dusting on the cars yesterday evening. Forecast said snow all day today and there’s been absolutely cunt all, just greyness.

Well, it just dumped a load here this afternoon (Notts/Derby ish), you're welcome to as many bucketfuls as you can carry :P

Stuff looks pretty enough the other side of the double glazing, but fuck going out in it....oh wait, can't go anywhere anyway, win win.

We haven't had any snow (Lanarkshire) since Thursday. It's all compacted on to the scheme roads turning them into an ice rink.  Bloody still getting the frosts though.

We have snow.  It's melting quite fast but still enough to keep the kids out screaming on their sledges when I went for walkies with the dog about an hour ago.

We got about 2 inches in Berkshire yesterday and it's still on the roads and grass etc, but it's due to rain over the next week.

Absolutely massive volcano eruption near the island nation of Tonga. Tsunami hit soon after. Will attach links later, seems to be massive destruction and likely some deaths

Not sure which thread to put it into

A bolt of lightning that stretched nearly 500 miles across three U.S. states is the new world record holder for longest flash.

The single flash extended 477.2 miles across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi in April 2020, the World Meteorological Organization said Monday. That beat the old record set in 2018 in Brazil of 440.6 miles.

Dudley and Eunice, the latest storms, would be better off being called Fred and Rose.

My wheelie bin now has to go on a speed awareness course.

To be fair Dudley has been a damp squib here, wet and a tad blowy.

But Eunice has all the hallmarks of a beast in the making. Sting jet, 100mph gusts right on school rush hour. Even the BBC weather guys normally meek are saying it could be the worst storm in decades (since Burns Day storm in Jan 1990).
