Death sentence annulled. Musharraf's health suddenly improves, ha! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-51093842

Certainly big news for him in terms the deathlist, but right when he was given the sentence everybody was saying it was going to be thrown out anyway.

Might as well take him off the list already

77 today. Didn't find any specific news about him (while using Google News for one or two seconds).

Will UK media even cover his death?

He was a big name around 20 years ago. In 2001 he was a dangerous would be dictator who threatened peace in the region and was a belligerent antagonist to the UK and US. Then the September 11 attacks happened, and Musharraf backed the US. Overnight, the UK/US transformed him into a strong ally who was vital to peace in the region!

Absolutely. At one point he was never off of the news.

Yep. Will defo get an obit in the newspapers

Too right he will, and so will Clarissa Eden - though she hasn't done anything high profile in the lifetime of most Deathlisters.

Not the Pervez, but one of the judges who sentenced him to death, Waqar Ahmed Seth, is, well, dead at 59 from tireless COVID-19.

Worth to mention here too that his mother apparently died at age 100.

Nah, this time she's not just sleeping.

Last I heard he was on a ventilator. Lots of Twitterati think he's dead already.

Let's see.

Now denials, some saying he's on a ventilator, others saying he's ill but home.

Hilarious.

According to this (half an hour ago) his family has said that he's on ventilator in Dubai and "in very bad health"...

Dead on Wikipedia... probably some foreign language source has it.

Interesting thread, this one. The "moving target" phase from 2004 (!) to 2007. And then the ill-or-not-ill phase from 2014-2022. At only 78 years old (much for the country, not so much for a president), there probably was something to the illness. He used to have heart problems, but then, in his position, how could he not.

All the reports refer to reports and claims...

Of course, he probably is dead, but I'd like to see some news source definitively say it out loud. Come along BBC...
