Kinda hard to give up a new spangled religion. Not like the Old Gods.

Bet a pound to a pinch of pigshit, he only found out about it after the Spice Girls reformed.

How's the not posting going @Joey Russ

I'm on a bit of a roll myself but staying under the radar for years is possible :ninja:

I'm not suggesting we all keep asking Joey questions so he has no choice but to post btw. That would be very unhelpful.

Just 7 posts for him yesterday - down from 20 the day before - so he's going methadone rather than cold turkey.

20 posts a day = 7,300 a year - oof - #habit #addicted

PS LOL at myself - first time I've ever used hash tags.

*knowingly makes his 2nd post*

No. I just feel like the amount of posts I make on a daily basis is way too high. A lot of the posts I make have often been of the annoyance of others, and that’s not really helping the forum at all imo...

I was a wiccan once, I still have my spellbook etc, I grew out of it (and may well still be married to my gbf#2's sister)

Of course nobody is trying to encourage Joey to post with questions / updates / stats. That would be horrible.

ETA cross posted with Joey there. Your contributions are not unvalued. I've been here since time began but can't imagine DL without you in it tbh.

Yeah but it's his constant what should be 'tweets' that are 'posts' here.
Shit like "boy we aren't keeping up with last year are we" ... or "my team is looking ok" or any such nonsense.  Which is why I blocked him twice, but paroled him.  He hasn't been QUITE as stooopid with his random thought posts, but it'll happen inside of two weeks, and I'll block him again for 4 months or so.
Maybe....just maybe he will stick to posting obits, updates on celeb health, or keep his rambling in the extra-curricular threads.  Nah.

^ See, I know folk are convinced/have evidence/whatever that Joey isn't Joey, but by goodness, it's a bloody good impression of a teenager's posts if that's the case.  I haven't seen that much teenage angst and self-analysis since I was at school.

Yes, I read Grim and Boudicca's parenthood posts with a grim realisation of what lies in the not so distance future here...

Lolololol and I thought charon was the bad cop. Kick him while he's down SC why don't you?

Er, there was some summer of love inspired jumping over broomstick action with best pals sister. He wanted to marry me but was very much out and this was our logical response. We were seventeen. Happens. I thought most people my age were married in wiccan ceremonies?

Nah, no way Joey's an imposter. He definitely seems like somebody my age. Zorders isn't mentally stable enough to be able to maintain a disguise for 2 years. If Zorders was Joey, we'd be seeing a lot of posts from him about 'sand durkas' and 'the deep state' and what not.

Anyway, several years ago, I used to post a lot on here too. Not as much as Joey, mind, but maybe up to 10 posts a day. Nowadays, I make 3-4 posts a day during the 'busy months' (December-March) and 2-3 posts a week in the quieter months of the year.

If you're reading this Joey, I reduced my post count by thinking if what I'm typing truly matters. Does it contribute anything? Is it helpful? Is it interesting?

Here are some examples of unnecessary posts that you should try to eliminate, imho:

- Clive Dunn emojis/telling people they're posting in the wrong thread/etc. Every once in a while is fine (even I'm tempted on some occasions, like my Charlie Brown augh post from a week ago), but you seem to have to put people in their place about their mistakes each time it happens. Somebody is bound to tell them anyway, so it doesn't have to be you. No need to post about it. Besides, it doesn't really accomplish anything. That post will still stay in the wrong thread, as posts are rarely moved, and never deleted.

- Deadpool analysis. Seemingly every time there is a scoreboard update on a pool, you have to jump in with a post like "ah, I've now fallen from 8th to =13th. But I reckon I can get back to the top 10 by Easter". I get that it's a nice mental note for yourself, but if it's something you type for yourself - you don't really need to post it. Few people are interested in posts like this. And if they are, they're probably top poolers who already know what the scoreboard looks like and are aware of how their competition is doing.

- Many posts in the extracurricular forums. Major event in personal life? Sure, post in the Status Updates thread. Tornado destroyed your school? Sure, post in the Weather thread. Going to a concert? Sure, post in the Gigs thread. Found a funny meme on Facebook? Eh, probably don't post in the Funny Things You Saw Online thread. It's December and you're working on your shortlist? Eh, only make a couple posts in the Shortlist thread, no need for an update each time you find a new name you might pick.

- Making several posts when a deadpooling-relevant name seems to be on the brink of death. People don't really care about your individual reaction "wow, I thought she'd make it a couple more months" or "damn, he was my second sub in the Hare's Pool".

- And finally, posts apologizing for too many posts. You don't need to make posts like "sorry, I just like analyzing" or whatnot. No need to apologize for your posts to us cuntos. :P Also try to avoid taking folk's bait when they accuse you of being Zorders or whatever. And try not to bait them yourself with posts about your anxiety and stuff, there's people on here who'll just make fun of you even more.

Anyway, I don't mean to be an asshole, just trying to help out. You're certainly not the only forum member to make a lot of pointless posts. I make a ton of them too, e.g. I could have avoided the three or so cringeworthy posts I made in the Dead of 2018 thread the other day (you know, the whole Liam Miller - Sir Creep - Charlie Brown debacle). And it's always annoying when Sean makes four posts in a row in the same thread, one of which is just ":pop::skill2::skull:". Sorry, Sean. :P

I get that posting on here might be a way to escape your personal life and anxiety. But I don't think spending so much time on a forum about death really helps. As others have said, therapy is the way to go. If your parents don't support that or whatever, there's always help at school (at least, there is at my school, I don't know what it's like in your area...). Try to focus on bettering your real life. Escaping your problems is unhealthy.

Spent an hour typing this post, so hopefully it was at least somewhat helpful.

Tbf, if you only had non-pointless posts per year, you'd probably have, what, 3 posts a year on the forum. Best thing to do it to not worry about things.

Btw, I don't mind folks detailed analysis (you know, X might do Y because Z, not so much "I might do X", end of comment) but spacing them out is great. The short list stuff is amusing - one of these days someone is going to do a Rafa facts speech and bugger up the title in there.

^ These ones are good advice, and will help you a lot.

I find reading up on the forum is a nice stress reliever tbh, Rad, but then, that might be down to me being a weirdo...

I was going to post a lengthy approving reply to that but seeing Radguy now uses the word "cuntos" there's nothing more needs adding.

This is sadly becoming the Roey thread at quite a pace.

Joey, first and foremost, don't feel ashamed to be you. Everyone is their own individual person. You're not half as irritating as you may expect. And when people make some kind of sarcastic quips at your expense, it's not for the sake of slagging off Joey. It's just a laugh. Laugh it off, double down on whatever you're having the piss taken out of you for, maybe quip straight back at them if you can, at their expense. Have a problem with a specific person on here? It'll be the same out in the real world. And, much like in the real world, it's probably best not to take any notice of them. Getting upset simply makes things uncomfortable; learning to stop taking things seriously makes for a much more amusing time.

As for your daily post count growing faster than the death toll at an American school, read what you type before posting. Ask yourself: Does this make you laugh? Will it make other people laugh? Will it make other people react with a quizzical expression and let out a "hmm, interesting"? If not, it's probably an idle ramble; maybe just save those for Twitter or something and become a star over there. You're clearly rather well informed, and evidently enjoy partaking in this site full of sick cunts. Good. That's excellent. It seems like you're in the presence of a fairly easy-going bunch on here, who'll pass through a couple of times a day whenever they've got a spare 3 minutes to see how their deadpooling's going or to take the piss out of a dead/dying person. That's largely all. PotM made some very salient points: this is not a reaction log, it's not a place you come to make an exhibit of how little you think of yourself, or to simply correct someone like you're marking their homework. Just take a little more laid back approach, that's all you need to do. And everyone curls out a bit of a turd of a post from time to time, just don't fret about it.

And as for your life outside of here, you need to start respecting yourself a bit more. You've got anxiety? Sorry to hear that. I'm a manic depressive, pleased to meet you. Life serves all of us shit sandwiches, you've just got to get on with it. Trust me, whatever pessimism or angst or worries about your life or self could 1) always be worse, and 2) won't be half as bad as you think. Things will work out fine, you'll have better days ahead of you. But this site, as willing to help as some of us are, is not a psychiatric ward (contrary to how it seems sometimes). If you think you need help, or figure out what's bugging you the most, for crying out loud man go and get it sorted out. Now, re-read the italicised first sentence in this pile of drivel I've shat out into this topic for you, and carry on as normal. Although, of course, do at least try and take some of the points in these posts on board.

Fuck. Ing. Hell.

"He's a normal teenager just like meeeeeeee"

crysmiley.gif

*except....... There is no teenager in the States that has an encyclopedic knowledge of English regional newspapers. None.

Plenty of teens use vpns true, but as a committed church goer lolol that rules out porn, and does he really want to use it to get UK Netflix?

His language leans to this side of the pond on occasion, so to say 'he couldn't keep it up for this long' is tripe, he cannot, hence the mask slips.

**tho kudos to the Chicago Kid putting 'cuntos' into his remit.

I'd be delighted to see Zorders back if it meant the end of this charade with Roey.

But its amusing as fuck seeing dissertation length posts from 'normal' teenagers :D

Well, hey, I've been on these mostly-British forums for a couple years.

I've adopted a lot of useful new words, like owt/nowt, summat, and yes - cunto.

Same goes for Joey, probably.
