She's no world-beater but a chick named Buridane was launching her debut album while I was in France and I found her work quite pleasant:

There's A Ghost In My House, R. Dean Taylor

In Between Days, The Cure

The Boys Of Summer, Don Henley

.... Oh dear, I can see a theme developing there

That's how this thread began, many moons and titles ago.

Let's go Dutch:

Ooh, it's been a while since I heard that. Allow me to add a song by Rod Argent that was made a world-wide hit by some Mexican bloke:

The Zombies - She's Not There

Following up on harry's Dutch streak I'd like to add two products Made in Belgium:

I'm not sure M. Brell would have approved, but he won't complain.

Hein

It changed title about 20 times, but I can't exactly remember how it got from My Favourite Songs (right, PB?) to JBIJJ. Hattie Jacques was involved somewhere at one point, and it was even called The Music Thread (very Ronseal) for a while.

Anyway, I'm not particularly trying to bump it, I was just looking for somewhere to complain about Capaldi and Sheeran. Room 101, probably.

Had no idea this (excellent) thread existed.

The three wildly different tunes I’m enjoying most at the moment (all of which just came up randomly on my >3,000-strong shuffle playlist and made me think “fuck me, I forgot how good this is):

Beck - Dear Life

Radiohead - Exit Music (for a film)

Fatman Scoop - Be Faithful

I think (one of) the name changes occurred when Notapotato done something to.it.  Can't for the life of me remember what it was though.

And it correctly predicted the creation of What Are You Listening to Right Now. But mostly, by the end, it was just me whingeing about the Mercury Prize each year.

Capaldi and Sheeran

Thanks, had no clue who the first one was, and only recognised the second from his cameo in Game of Thrones.

Seriously, I'm so out of touch.

Available to be the resident old fart on quiz teams.

At this moment.

Lou Reed - Perfect Day

Manic Street Preachers - Your love alone

Elvis Costello - Good year for the roses.

MGMT - It's Working

SZA - Good Days

blink-182 - Stockholm Syndrome

It's funny/unfortunate that listening to 2k chart songs from 1952-63 hasn't changed my comfort zone, which is music from 1993 and up. If anything it makes me want to move as far as possible away from yodelling, and funereal backing singers, and 5 covers of the same song, and godawful arms/charms or you/true/blue/through couplets. Maybe my opinion will change when hippies take over the chart.

Absolutely no idea this thread existed so I just assumed it was started after 2007 when the entire forum was wall to wall utter wankers and I completely stopped even reading it.

Oh. Look.
