Mel Brooks a better selection imo. Because 50 per cent of the UK know who he is.

I think Mel Brooks is just a bit too healthy

Surprising DL pick tbh. Clearly the older US-centric celebs are an area the Cmme goes for nowadays.

Prehaps an American or two is on the committee now.

Could have put both down as they both have dinner each evening. If one goes, the other could follow.

Seems silly to feel upset that a 98 year old has died, but here we are nonetheless.

Was watching this clip of a 2017 panel discussion between Reiner, Mel Brooks, Norman Lear and Dick Van Dyke recently. Thought Lear looked the most frail out of the lot but Reiner is the first to go.

Worth mentioning also that out of the huge cast of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), only Barrie Chase (b. 1933) and Nicholas Georgiade (b. 1933) are still alive.

I seriously didn't expect him to go this year.

RIP to a comedy legend.

Also, he was Tweeting to the very end.

This is a lucky random-old-guy-hit for the Committee.
