Pat Sejak, host of Wheel of Fortune, had emergency surgery to fix a blocked intestine. He is 73 years old.

I was surprised to learn he was that age. No known prior health issues and seems to be in good fettle.

‘Tremendous Knowledge’ David Rainford, off of BBC2’s Eggheads and very imaginative nicknames, dead at 51.

If you haven’t heard of Eggheads, it’s a quiz show for people who don’t necessarily want to be entertained.

DDP unique for You Dirty Rotten Swine, You Deaded Them!

Well done if you are on here; there were rumours and a long absence but I didn’t read anything concrete.

That’s me. I noticed he was missing episodes, yet was still appearing in the show’s titles. His Twitter account revealed that he was ‘ill’ but was hoping to return later. That never happened, and his illness may be why the show is currently off air.

From comments on Facebook, it seems like he'd been seriously ill for a few years. Someone commented on Reddit saying they'd been on Eggheads a couple of years ago and Dave was ill back then, thought he may have had MS or ALS.

I'm surprised he hasn't had an obit on the BBC at all!

Not a host (don't shoot me) but one for the tender caress of @Ulitzer95.

There's a death recorded here for a James Baker, a TV Edit Producer, who died in 2021.

Could it be this guy: https://www.thetalentmanager.com/talent/254 (resume available to registered users, and of course I don't register for these sites) who would also be this guy: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8337712/

No idea. But as I’ve said, I’ve given up with IMDb now. They’ve installed loads of unsourced death dates recently, several of which are 100% wrong. If they’ve got a Wiki page, talk to me.

Ocht, that's a pity, the Sinead Sweeney post on the Dead of 2021 is a cast iron submission.

Former hostess on the Sale of the Century and a former Miss Britain, Christine Owen, reportedly dead from a recurrence of cancer, aged 69: https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/people/sheffield-beauty-queen-and-hostess-of-sale-of-the-century-christine-crapper-dies-aged-69-3851569

The strain of her family history of cancer and also her husband's testicular cancer led to her separation from her husband, Peter Crapper.

Barry Cryer and Ruth Madoc the only fallers from the above list to date I reckon.

(Yes, because you were all watching [the blatantly rigged] Britain's Got Talent, weren't you?).

Very brief, said he'd be looking forward to watching the show with us next time round. Optimistic bugger, isn't he?
