....or, as an alternative...

Nice girls not one with a defect,

Cellophane shrink-wrapped, so correct.

Red dogs under illegal legs.

She looks so good that he gets down and begs.

She is watching the detectives.

"ooh, he's so cute!"

She is watching the detectives

when they shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot.

They beat him up until the teardrops start,

but he can't be wounded 'cause he's got no heart.

Long shot of that jumping sign,

Visible shivers running down my spine.

Cut to the baby taking off her clothes.

Close-up of the sign that says,"We never close"

You snatch a tune and match a cigarette,

She pulls the eyes out with a face like a magnet.

I don't know how much more of this I can take.

She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake.

chorus

You think you're alone until you realize you're in it.

Now fear is here to stay. Love is here for a visit.

They call it instant justice when it's past the legal limit.

Someone's scratching at the window. I wonder who is it?

The detectives come to check if you belong to the parents

who are ready to hear the worst about their daughter's disappearance.

Though it nearly took a miracle to get you to stay,

It only took my little fingers to blow you away.

Just like watching the detectives.

Don't get cute!"

It's just like watching the detectives.

I get so angry when the teardrops start,

But he can't be wounded 'cause he's got no heart.

Watching the detectives.

It's just like watching the detectives.

One of the best ones. :pop:

Too true. 'She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake'. What a good line.

Probably the wrong thread, but anyway...

I need some help here. I'm trying to make the longest possible compilation album of songs that have "horse" or "horses" in their title. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Judy And The Dream Of Horses - Belle and Sebastian

Horses Under Starlight - Manic Street Preachers

Wild Horses - The Sundays (one of many bands to covered the song)

A Horse In The Country - Cowboy Junkies

Horse Latitudes - The Doors

Ride A White Horse - Goldfrapp

Horse Opera - House of Jazz

Black Horse And The Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall

Horse With No Name - America

Goodbye Horses - Q Lazzarus and Garvey

If anyone could come up with more songs of this nature, I'd be most grateful. Perhaps you could search for "horse" in your iTunes library?

This is important for reasons I cannot begin to explain.

Well I'm sure you'll all laugh at some of what came up on my search:

Horse Pills - Dandy Warhols

Johnny the Horse - Madness

Pantomime Horse - Suede

One Horse Town - The Thrills

Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - U2

Dead Horse - Guns n' Roses

Plus some of yours and two versions of Wild Horses, Mazzy Star and some band called The Rolling Stones.

I don't know if these count but the search also gave:

Four Horsemen - The Clash

Four Horsemen of 2012 - The Klaxons

Ah, nice one. Horsemen not allowed though. I totally forgot about the obvious one - Horses by Patti Smith. I could do with a few more though....

Sir Stephen Cleobury, former Director of Music at King’s College, Cambridge, has died aged 70.

The British conductor and organist, who was knighted in 2019, died peacefully in his hometown of York during the night of Friday 22 November.

The sad news comes after Cleobury had been experiencing a long-term illness.

This thread is extra curricular. This post would be far better placed in your Gospel & Christian Music thread. He sang as a chorister at Worcester Cathedral.

I put it precisely where I wanted it.  The person wasn't worth a spit as a celeb and had a life that by definition was 'extra curricular'.  If you honestly and incorrectly believe we can't post an obit in this forum, you'll need to post these thoughts in 'How To'.  You're just mad I was cool and rebooted a thread before your doppleganger Y-Dub could get to it.
THAT said, I think it's a fair cop to double post such a star celeb, and I'm on it!  However, his music isn't Christian as much as it is 'classical' and thus will be put in 'Minimalists'.  Or maybe we really pinpoint this and go with 'Chamber Music'.  Ayyyyyyyyyye....
