Good re the rain. < a going pun :)....

Been all over Hunt Ball at stoopid prices for a week/month or two and will go in again largish tomorrow, with in running betting/laying very worthwhile with him as he will jump soundly. Currently 40/50's with bigger on Betfair.

If he places in top 5 then woo fuckin hoo.......wins? Retire.

Also e/w doubles with Chile in WC and I now see after coming back from the states and changing owners he will run in a Chile strip :D

What?

Bugger. He was on the subs bench for my Toast of the Turf team.

By the way, could a mod sort out the ungrammatical and misspelt thread title, please?

And it's Clare Balding, not Claire, but I can't see that she warrants a thread to herself anyway. Just call it Horse Racing Personalities, or summat similar. Or Sods of Turf.

1999 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner See More Business, dead at 24.

You know you're getting old when horses you can remember betting on start dying of old age.

So horse trainer Toby Balding finally crossed the finishing line....one assumes he will now occupy his own "open ditch"

Wow. I'm sad to hear about this. One of my grandfathers used to bet on the horses. I remember sitting on some Saturday afternoons with him and my cousins, betting pennies on the races and I always went for Eddery if he was riding one of the horses. More often than not, I won. Cheers Pat, for all the small victories I had as a boy.
