Zoe Davison has had cancer for around 4 years apparently. Had a double today at Plumpton, and ought to get a Racing Post obit at least.

Dead within the past hour on the same day she got two winners.

The timing of her death leads to a quick QO.

Never heard of her and her Z initial - and if the ABC DP is any barometer, neither did anyone else in August 2020.  Her breasts must have been late bloomers.
I am trying to lock up Most Crass Post 2021 early.

Daughter of old school trainer/"personality" Albert Davison fwiw. Knew she was going to be gone by the end of January, didn't think it would be three days in.

No, you wouldn't have heard of her.  Like I've never heard of all the US sports people that get mentioned on here.

I knew who Zoe Davison was, but didn't know her although I did know quite a lot of racing folk back in the day.  My old network has been depleted by deaths and house moves

Goldikova, three-time Breeder's Cup Mile winner, four-time Prix Rothschild winner and winner of 14 group one races has died at 16.

There are two two-time winners of Breeder's Cup Mile (horses) alive, Wise Dan and Da Hoss. Da Hoss is also the oldest winner of the competition alive.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealy_Hill

Racehorse sometimes called the best racehorse in Canada (is in the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame and was the horse of the year in 2007) Sealy Hill dead at 17.

https://www.canadianhorseracinghalloffame.com/2013/08/17/sealy-hill/

Sealy Hill's damsire Boston Harbor, 1996 Breeder's Cup Juvenile winner is possibly still alive. Edit: DEAD 9th of March 2021 However there are many Breeder's Cup Juvenile winners born in the 1980s and early 1990s with no mentioned death date, out of which most have probably already died. (Tasso, winner 1985, Arazi, winner 1991, Gilded Time, winner 1992, Brocco, winner 1993)

He got a piffling mention elsewhere yesterday, but Hamdan Al Maktoum was more famous to British racing fans for his blue and white silks, as well as being Sheikh Mohammed's brother and the deputy leader of Dubai. All his horses had  unmemorable Arabic names, but 1989 Derby and 2,000 Guineas winner Nashwan was possibly the most well-known/best. No apologies for crossposting.

Thank, Harry, I saw that in passing but as he was named as Hamdan al Rashid I didn't realise who it was.  He owned a lot of horses round my way at one time.

That’s the trouble with our obit-bots. I’d feel uncomfortable posting the deaths of people I was clueless about, even if I was quick enough or arsed enough to do so.  Elgin Baylor was a basketball legend, but he got tossed off in a single, fairly uninformative line. I'm surprised Creep hasn't gone apeshit and demanded 27 cards for him.

Does anyone really get their death updates from here anyway? If I want to know exactly who's popped off, I'll check wiki-deaths. This place is for context and opinion on that death.
