Nicaraguan theologian, poet and Sandinista fanboy Fr.Ernesto Cardenal for your consideration.  Highly obitable I would have thought.

Yes. Cardenal so "gravely ill" he will travel to Mexico in early December. Another fucking fraudster.

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke (who would surely have been a porn start in another life) has died aged 79.

Claimed to have converted 75,000,000 to christianity.

There's something true about the saying that irresistible boozers have a guardian angel.

On january 7, Gérard Depardieu  appeared on a Russian tv show and talked drivel, as usual. This time he compared Jesus to a roasted pig.

I dislike blasphemy, but he has my sympathy, since catholic priests refused to baptize him not once, but twice: First time because his parents couldn't pay, second time because he sketched a nude woman (when he was ten).

Anyway, Russian religious groups made a fuss about this small faux-pas. Austere religious scholar Vsevolod Chaplin even threatened to haul poor Depardieu before the courts.

Yesterday this zealot dropped dead in front of a church. :angel5:

If anyone is interested I recently did some research and discovered there are still 21 Catholic Bishops who were in attendance at Vatican II alive today. This includes four Cardinals and one Bishop who left the church. The youngest of the 21 is 86 and the oldest is 103 and a roughly average age of 94.

Update:

With yesterday’s death of William McNaughton, the last American to attend, the number of bishops who were there has slipped to only 13 including one cardinal. The youngest is 87 and the oldest 104.

YES! FINALLY!

During his trip in Mexico he took part to a local Tortilla-eating contest, decisively winning it by eating six kilos of tortillas. A few hours later he fell into a coma and never woke up. A hero.
