Eberhard Jüngel,  the leading Protestant theologian to emerge out of Stalinist East Germany, has died. He was 86.  Jüngel’s work overshadowed in some ways by his peers and colleagues, including future Pope Benedict XVI, Joseph Ratzinger. He was also unsuccessful in popularizing the phrase "It's a Jüngel out there", causing him to fall short in two areas.

Former Handan bishop Stephen Yang Xiangtai, 98, hospitalised and in very poor health.

He has not an English wiki page, only Norwegian and Vietnamese.

Satanic ritual abuse conspiracy theorist, pastor, anti-vaxer and author Russ Dizdar has died, apparently from covid.  Meanwhile his wife Shelley is gravely ill in hospital.

The titles of his books give a fairly accurate overview of his perspective on things.  Who could forget his timeless classics Expelling Darkness - Engaging Non Human Entities Now And In The End of Days, or indeed The Black Awakening: Rise of the Satanic Super Soldiers and the Coming Chaos

Shah Ahmad Shafi's (1916-2020) successor as the amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Junaid Babunagari (1953-2021) not as immortal as his predecessor:

Suffered a stroke a couple of hours ago, died on the way to the hospital. He was 67.

Apparently had been suffering from heart disease, kidney diseases and diabetes. Who's next from the group, Nurul Islam Jihadi or Muhibbullah Babunagari? Both look horrible.

A pretty late update but Muhibbullah Babunagari was made the amir of Hefazat-e-Islam. He's the 87-year old uncle of his predecessor, Junaid Babunagari.

Satan's supersoldiers came to take him home?

Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I hospitalised in Washington after feeling unwell. Scheduled to meet Biden.

Going to be a very big death once it happens. He is (and has been since November 1991) the leader of the Eastern Orthodox Church with 220 million baptised members.

Opened a church at ground zero and did a speech in English yesterday. Does not seem to be in bad health.
