Was just going to post the same.  Paul and Phil were a great double act and I'm really sad to read of his passing.:rip:

And now Pete Shelley, composer of that theme, has died as well.

This year's UCI Track World Championships were held just over a week ago, and Kelly Caitlin didn't take part due to suffering concussion. She was part of three previous Team Pursuit winning teams.

Her sister said on reddit that she wasn’t the same mentally after suffering the concussion.

So, yer man survived today but he's going for 220 mph on a bike in 2020. This is a pursuit in which a blow out could be fatal and guaranteed to be filmed (q/o obit nailed on): https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-49393888

Reminds me of the Eric Barone crash in 2008 -  everything was going smoothly as he trundled down a mountain at 107mph, until his bike snapped in two.  Remarkably, he only broke a few ribs.

French cycling legend Raymond Poulidor, 83, is in rapidly failing health according to recent news reports.  He is currently in hospital and this article (in French) doesn't paint a very rosey picture.

Quote

Concern is growing about Raymond Poulidor. While his wife Gisele told AFP yesterday that the former cyclist, darling of the public, French, had been hospitalized for several days in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat (Haute-Vienne), where he had lived for many years because of a "great fatigue", it has been more accurate but also more alarmist, today. "The news is not very good," she said Wednesday in comments relayed by Le Parisien. The doctors told us they would do tests but we should prepare to not receive good news. It's been a few days since he hardly talks anymore. He answers just by "yes" or "no" when asked if he ate or slept. I am obviously very worried"

Poulidor never actually won Le Tour, but did manage to finish second or third on no less than eight occasions.  He's cycling royalty and highly obitable - if for nothing else than featuring in this iconic photograph, doing battle with Jacques Anquetil in the mountains.

You're quite right, I could just look the other way, but I'm not going to.

Anyway you're now on mod preview.  I was going to make it permanent, but am pleased to tell you it's only for the next seventeen years, by which time you'll hopefully be slightly less annoying.
