Natalya Melyokhina was born in Chelyabinsk, she died aged 61, She became world champion in the women's team time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in 1987 and finished second in 1990. In 1990 she also won stage 5 of the Tour Cycliste Féminin de la Drôme and finished second in the general classification.

Horrible looking crash in the Basque Tour that’s taken out three of the pre TDF favourites, Vingegaard, Roglic and Evenepoel. Hopefully no one is too badly hurt, they all seem conscious at least.

Impressive how Remco Evenepoel, with less than a second's thinking time, managed to bunny hop over that ditch at around 40 mph before coming to grief.

Eddy Merckx received emergency surgery due to volvulus, but was never in danger of life and has been already discharged.
