Typhoid Harry 23 Posted July 30, 2004 It's all those spoonfuls of sugar ... Wouldn't that be "spoons full"? That was strange, I went from logged in to guest without doing anything...
The Yeti 14 Posted July 30, 2004 Actually, I think it should be 'a spoon full' (from the song ya know).
Typhoid Harry 23 Posted July 30, 2004 It's all those spoonfuls of sugar ... The "all those" made it plural, but I like your thinking. Here, all this time, I was thinking it was "Yenta".
Guest Shary Bobbins Posted January 23, 2008 Only seven (mostly nonsensical) posts and three and a half years since the last one. Makes the Bergman thread seem like Ledger or Suharto. Does anyone know anything about Blake Edwards, such as why he's on the list? He's not old and he's not ill, seems to me.
Octopus of Odstock 2,180 Posted January 23, 2008 Does anyone know anything about Blake Edwards, such as why he's on the list? He's not old and he's not ill, seems to me. Well, he's 85, no spring chicken. He's certainly very frail & needs either a walking stick (or mostly) a wheelchair to get around now. I think it could be a surprise DL hit - Edwards has been prominent on my long-shortlist for some while but I can't determine whether it is age or illness (possbily Parkinson's) that is why he is so frail now, which is why he never makes the top 20. I agree with you about the thread, mind.
Octopus of Odstock 2,180 Posted April 6, 2008 Whilst checking something on Stone Freedberg (on page 2 of the article as it happens), Julie Andrews confirms husband Blake Edwards is busy working on a musical. So maybe not as frail as I thought...
Phantom 2,531 Posted April 6, 2008 Whilst checking something on Stone Freedberg (on page 2 of the article as it happens), Julie Andrews confirms husband Blake Edwards is busy working on a musical. So maybe not as frail as I thought... Surely that would depend if he's going to dance or not
DevonDeathTrip 2,357 Posted January 26, 2009 Blake Edwards has exhibited his artwork for the first time in twenty five years. He doesn't look very close to death in his photo.

I disagree somewhat...I think he looks terrible I bet he didn't move from that chair all day

Magere Hein 1,399 Posted December 16, 2010 Dead - breaking news. Empire magazine have announced it on their Twitter feed, and Den Of Geek have a quick obit. Wel, well. With a nice christmas hit we still might make a nice round ten. I rather like his Pink Panther films, I'm sorry to see him go. Does your dog bite? regards, Hein
Terminator 13 Posted December 16, 2010 A link to the BBC report is here. He died from complications arising from pneumonia.
Bridge over the River Styx 0 Posted December 16, 2010 A more appropriate demise for him would have been to be shot in the dark. Does this mean we will have three deaths pending a write up?
Grim Reaper 186 Posted December 16, 2010 The much overdue write-ups now almost done - but Blake's headline seems to be a tough one. Such a pity he wasnt number "10" of the year. "Breakfast at Stiffany's" ?
