Bare knuckle fighter boxer Willy Collins known as "the king of Sheffield " has died aged 49 whilst on holidays in Spain.

Well known by many boxing fans and those especially involved in the boxing commercials.

Both Tyson Fury and Billy Joe Saunders have paid tribute to him.

Unsurprising really. I think I’ve already commented on his obitability at this point but I doubt we see anything on him again until he passes, regardless.

Like all those other 70s Brit greats and not-so-greats...Conteh, Stracey, 'Boy' Green, Finnegan, Buchanan, Bugner, Dunn (Richard not Clive)... resonating through the decades like an 'ook from 'Enry's 'Ammer... Sporstnight with Harry...jumpers for ringposts...isn't it...hmmm..

The pandemic certainly doesn't seem to have affected boxing's unique way with hype and hyperbole:

"It's the only fight to be made in boxing. It is the biggest fight in British boxing history."

"biggest fight since Muhammad Ali v Joe Frazier in 1971"

"biggest UK sporting event since the 1966 World Cup final".

"one of the greatest sporting occasions Britain has ever known"

My fiver's on a dogged DDT to knock out a tiring Paul Bearer in the final round, and Deathray (aka The Boy Who Cried Porn) to be allowed back.

I did wonder if he'd have been a hit for anyone but hadn't got round to looking.

Tweet reporting the death of Johnny Clark (wiki) aged 73. British and European bantamweight champion in 1973.

A Facebook post gives the cause of death as dementia complications.
