Adams' death comes less than 24 hours after a write-up in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, which advised he was a 'player to watch'.

Haha, well, that depends on who's watching - and why.

Reggie Cobb, who spent seven years in the NFL as a running back and the past 10 years as a scout for the San Francisco 49ers, died from an apparent heart attack on Saturday, the team announced. He was 50.

Stunner.... he was a decent player and on plenty of fantasy football teams a couple decades ago.

Waiting for a Freddie Starr/Bart Starr to fall.....and they do. QO for completeness: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/may/26/bart-starr-quarterback-green-bay-packers-dies-nfl

Two of the three Starrs picked on this year's DDP dead within the space of a few weeks. Will we be seeing an end to peace and love, peace and love soon?

Tom Heckert, a former personnel executive for the Eagles, the Cleveland Browns and most recently the Denver Broncos, has died following a long illness, the Broncos said. He was 51.

Heckert stepped away from the Broncos after last season after being diagnosed in recent years with amyloidosis, a rare disease that causes a buildup of amyloid proteins in the heart, kidney, liver and other organs. He died Sunday night.

So let's start a 'people in the Denver Broncos organization that Pat Bowlen has outlived' list.
Here's our first entry.

(Edit -- beaten by a minute, but that's because Sir Creep ADDS VALUE to all his posts, and that takes time.  So it shant be deleted or apologized for.  On the contrary, it is emblazoned as a paradigm of 'how to' that shall be studied by DLers for years to come).

Stop the list. Pat Bowlen has died.

Former Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel’s cancer has returned.  The coach told KMIZ-TV that he is receiving treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.   Pinkel had been diagnosed with the disease in 2015 and retired later that year.  His cancer had been in remission.

Kerry Marbury, a former West Virginia University football standout considered among the top prep players in state history, has died at 67.

Marbury passed away Sunday morning.

Marbury rushed for 1,665 yards and 22 touchdowns over the 1971 and 1972 seasons. He carried the ball 145 times for 890 yards as a sophomore, before rushing for 775 yards on 150 attempts as a junior.

He also set the school’s single-game rushing record with a 291-yard output against Temple, a mark that has since been topped.

Marbury did not stick around for his senior season, electing to turn pro instead. He signed a contract with the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts, but his football career was over several years later.

Totally forgot about this discovery of mine.

Former Penn State running back Mike Gasparato passed away Thursday night following an extended battle with cancer, friends of his report. The sad news began making the rounds among former Nittany Lions Friday morning. Gasparato, who was 37, contracted the disease early last year.
