I had come to hear he was in poor health 2 years ago from an acquaintance who is a neighbour to him. Looks like it was true in this case. diego 1,992 Posted August 18, 2023 Gabriella Kotsis, Hungarian volleyball coach, died aged 95 on August 17. Along with Lang Ping, she was one of only two volleyball coaches to lead teams at multiple Olympics. Kotsis coached Hungary at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, and the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. He was the earliest surviving 800 metres Olympic Champion and Medalist. Yuri was also an Olympic team champion in '56 and is the only one still alive on that team after Albert's death. whoismakoto 328 Posted September 11, 2023 László Hódy (Wiki) later known as Les Hody, Hungarian basketball player, died on 26 May 2023. He first represented Hungary at the 1952 Olympics. After the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, he sought refuge and emigrated to Australia. There he changed his name to Les Hody and was able to acquire Australian citizenship. He then played for Australia in 1964 Olympics. In doing so, he became the first Olympian to compete for 2 countries.
