Lee Konitz, American jazz musician and composer, has died aged 92 due to coronavirus.

 

He was the only surviving member of Miles Davis’ Birth of The Cool sessions and has received reviews in The Guardian.

Giuseppi Logan, a saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist whose esteemed career in free jazz bracketed a mysterious absence of almost 40 years, died on Friday at the Lawrence Nursing Care Center in Far Rockaway, Queens. He was 84.

Legendary Scottish jazz singer Jeanie Lambe has died. She was 79. Lambe was well known as an accompanying singer to jazz tenor saxophonist Danny Moss.

Hugh Fraser, a Juno Award-winning Canadian jazz pianist, trombonist and composer, has died. He was 62. The Hugh Fraser Quintet was a hard-bop ensemble that released 12 albums between 1987 and 2012, garnering three Juno Award nominations and two wins.
