Death Impends 8,007 Posted December 31, 2015 Count me in as another to take a first go at this. Did a similar move to gcreptile and only contained names not on any previously or almost submitted dead pool, with the sole exception being a few names are on my Crowdsourced DL submission. I won't restrict myself in such a way for future years, at least re upcoming pool names. 1 Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (2019) 2 Marty Allen (2018) 3 Arthur Anderson (voice of Lucky the Leprechaun) 4 Gordon Banks (2019) 5 Tom “Dynamite Kid” Billington (2018) 6 Harold Bloom (2019) 7 Dick Bruna (2017) 8 Werner Buchholz (2019) 9 Gay Byrne (2019) 10 Peter Carington (2018) 11 Beverly Cleary (2021) 12 Mike Connors (2017) 13 Professor Irwin Corey (2017) 14 Hugh Downs (2020) 15 Abdul Sattar Edhi 16 Lawrence Ferlinghetti (2021) 17 Sonny Franzese (2020) 18 Jacque Fresco (2017) 19 Gordon Goody 20 Oskar Groening (2018) 21 Goran Hadzic 22 Merle Haggard 23 Joao Havelange 24 Bob Hawke (2019) 25 Lou Henson (2020) 26 Bill Johnson (skier) 27 Anker Jorgensen 28 Herbert Kalmbach (2017) 29 Hans Kung (2021) 30 Leon Lederman (2018) 31 Stan Lee (2018) 32 Norman Lloyd (2021) 33 Sandy McDonald (minister) 34 Michael I of Romania (2017) 35 Bobbie Heine Miller 36 Don Newcombe (2019) 37 Javier Perez de Cuellar (2020) 38 William Phipps (2018) 39 Sumner Redstone (on other pools - woops) 40 Geoffrey Robinson (bishop) (2020) 41 Red Schoendienst (2018) 42 George Shultz (2021) 43 Lynne Stewart (2017) 44 Mel Stottlemyre, Sr. (2019) 45 Lupita Tovar 46 Mort Walker (2018) 47 Mary Wilson (Harold's widow) (2018) 48 Bill Woodson (2017) 49 Hubert Yockey 50 Franco Zeffirelli (2019) 12/
CaptainChorizo 1,986 Posted January 1, 2016 This gonna be tricky next week since i submitted so many teams this year and have so many names btwn 2010-2015 already out of usage. Gonna have to look for potential new names on worlds oldest former head of states list or somefin.
Rotten Ali 600 Posted January 1, 2016 I'm taking it, that the Sun Wukong game can be one of the "root" dead pool lists. Your picks for it can include those from other lists that you may be using in other end of year pools, but that they may NOT come from any previous years (2015 or before) pool entries from this or other competitions. CaptainChorizo 1,986 Posted January 1, 2016 Thanks. The only names I gave myself a pass on was the Crowdsource List cause that was more pick names for group deadpool and not an actual team although offhand I am not sure there are more then 1 or 2 matches. Search function his helpful cause there was names I wasn't sure if I had randomly used in HDP or Deathrace or something like in 2012 or such. I just learned from wikipedia there are amazingly over 100 formber Us Congresmen/women over the age of 90 so that will be a nice tool for this in future years. I was able to round out my upcoming squad with about 5 of them.

CaptainChorizo 1,986 Posted January 8, 2016 What a great game Captain Chorizo played in 2015 - new Sun Wukong record on his first go. 15 out of 50. Just noticed from my team last year Dolph Schayes also died in Mid Dec, so it's a record 16.
Death Impends 8,007 Posted January 8, 2016 I can only seem to see 14 red names (Schayes not accounted for yet) despite a tally of 15? Think with Schayes 15 may be the final total, though it's an impressive feat either way for CC
YoungWillz 21,071 Posted January 8, 2016 So wait...you can enter this for a calendar year, but start anytime, right?

gcreptile 10,979 Posted February 16, 2016 The death of Lewis Feild gives me my first hit in this competition. http://www.sltrib.com/sports/3544037-155/rodeo-hall-of-famer-utah-native So now I've scored with all my 8 teams, and all with different names, except the Inverse Dead Pool, of course. Death Impends 8,007 Posted April 10, 2016 I've just discovered that one of the last surviving Manhattan Project scientists, Hubert Yockey, died back on January 31, aged 99. Puts my Sun Wukong entry at 6 hits now, though technically he was the third to die.
CaptainChorizo 1,986 Posted May 12, 2016 With Del Latta's recent passing I am also on 6 hits so far this year(Mulligan,Lubbock,Tournier,Haggerty,McDonald going earlier)
Joey Russ 7,229 Posted December 22, 2016 I think this is the one year round dead pool I won't be competing in. Writing together a team seems very complicated even though the scoring is simple. I can not take part of it. Good luck to everyone who will be taking part of this dead pool.

Death Impends 8,007 Posted December 31, 2016 Bar sudden death in a few hours my first entry finished at a solid 12/49 (and in the end, that self-docked pick didn't matter as Sumner Redstone lived anyway). Now for my second entry, using a previous gimmick of one of Ali's SW entries, and one I don't think has been done before: At least one surname for every letter of the alphabet, and the team is evenly split 50/50 between men and women. I also plan to continue using names who've never been on any of my individual deadpool entries. (Crowdsourced will remain fair game) Richard Adams and Liz Smith (the one who died, obviously) would've been part of this squad, were it not for their Christmas Eve demises. John B. Joey Russ 7,229 Posted December 3, 2017 After some thought, I think I'm gonna participate in this pool next year. However, I'm gonna play this in the form of a theme team so it has a bit of complexity for me... EDIT: Had a check at the beginning of year dead pools and only two names are ineligible for next year. Of course, after the first year, it will be harder for me...

Joey Russ 7,229 Posted January 1, 2018 I did say that I would do a team in the form of a theme, which, as you can probably tell, it's music related. I did put a couple of rules on myself: I am not allowed to pick anyone who was used at a previous dead pool, and any music pick I did use this year (minus crowdsource list) I would force myself to pick here. So here are my picks for 2018: August Alsina Joan Baez Ginger Baker Tony Bennett Hal Blaine Chris Brown Candido Camero DJ Casper Johnny Clegg Phil Collins Ray Davies Christy Dignam Oliver Dragojevic Geoff Emerick Guy Forsyth Aretha Franklin Stuart Fraser Leonard Hawkes Jacques Higelin Jake Holmes Joseph Jackson (producer) Jose Jose Rodney Justo Devin Lima Loretta Lynn Vera Lynn Hugh Masekela Barry McGuire John Mellencamp Joni Mitchell Henry Mountcharles Graham Nash Willie Nelson Olivia Newton-John Linda Nolan Brian O’Connor Seiji Ozawa Genesis P-Orridge Chris Rea Sonny Rollins Gary Rossington Johnny Ruffo Todd Rundgren Mark E Smith Phil Spector David Thomas Tony Visconti Joe Walsh Dionne Warwick Robert Wyatt 4/
