Just watched a debate over his legacy on Newsnight that seemed to be saying it was only possible to view him as either a sexual liberator and champion of free speech or a sleazy exploiter of women. Clearly ambivalence is not an option

This is the BBC we are talking about.

This is where feminism falls over with the bunnies.

Bitch n whine that the mansion/playboy is sexual oppression of women, while stating women should be free to do what they want with their bodies #FreeTheNipple

Idiosyncratically I will remember Mr Hefner as a publisher.

His daughter, Christie Hefner, was publisher for Playboy Enterprises and owned GAMES Magazine, a G-rated magazine of puzzles, entertainments and games I once subscribed to.

His publishing company kept Jack Davis, Al Jaffee, Arnold Roth and Harvey Kurtzman fed and clothed for at least a few issues of the then innocuously-named Trump Magazine.

Let the smaller-minded eulogize him in black and white.

That is what makes me laugh. The contradiction is so fundamental "Women should do whatever the wish as a career but if they do a job I don`t approve of screw them".Also funny how the third wave feminists mention how strong and intelligent women are (most of them are for the record) yet when a girl wants to be a topless model or a pornstar they are poor innocent victims who are so stupid that they could be duped into a career. You can`t have it both ways.I am of the opinion that a woman should just do whatever job she damn well pleases and screw what anyone else thinks. Many women did very well from playboy. The prudish snobby attitude to them by feminists is remarkably similar to the evangelical bible thumping traditionalists despite the fact that many feminists mock that kind of blinkered authoritarian rhetoric.

For some reason, some people thought that Hefner was murdered.

This was all a hoax, however.

So why did you post that here then? None of us would've thought that he was murdered at 91. Of course that's a hoax!

Screen write Robert Lees was 91 when he was murdered so it's not unheard of.

Considering we drew with the record number of deaths when Hef popped his clogs, what would you say the chances are of setting a new record? Is there anyone on the list right now that is on the verge of dying?

No, everybody on the list is fine and in good health. They are just shameful shitty ways to drive traffic to the site B)

"Hef In Hell?" as a lead-in for his write-up seems kinda rude to me.  It isn't like he was serving a life sentence or summat.
OK, I've stated my piece.  As you were.  Just seems we can be 'slightly' more classy, Admins.

Linda Lampenius, Hef's friend who appeared in Playboy in the 90s is denying these accusations, posted "stand with hef" on Instagram today and last week said "Hef was a kind man". I kind-of trust Lampenius who was abused by the monster called Peter Nygård, but who the hell knows, the documentary isn't out yet. I wouldn't be very suprised if Hef had had a "bestiality cult"
