MarcJWallace 270 Posted February 17, 2020 Harry Gregg, a survivor of the tragic 1958 Munich Air Disaster which claimed the lives of eight of his team-mates, has died aged 87. Dubbed the Hero of Munich, he rescued several people from the wreckage of the plane - including [Sir] Bobby Charlton, Jackie Blanchflower, Dennis Viollet and his brain-damaged manager, [Sir] Matt Busby. Gregg's death means that only Charlton survives of the United players who were on the plane who didn't perish.
Fergie86 374 Posted February 17, 2020 RIP Harry as a United fan know his great contribution to United’s history in the club’s darkest hour rescuing passengers from a burning plane wreckage incredible bravery from an incredible man tough as old boots was Harry they don’t make them like him anymore RIP. Now only Sir Bobby Charlton left from the 58 crash and he is looking frail and ill to me.

Also he may have also made a big contribution in helping us win the World Cup in 1966 by saving Bobby.

Yes he did him and Bill Foulkes just 2 weeks after almost dying in the plane crash, it would never happen today they would be out for months having therapy etc, really was a different time. Harry Gregg really did have it hard as well as surviving the plane crash he apparently survived a major car crash, his wife died of cancer when he was in his 30’s and he had to bring his kids up on his own and his daughter died a few years ago aged 50 from Cancer. Also you could be right about helping England win the World Cup he was the one who got Bobby out.

Grande Pablo 109 Posted March 9, 2020 https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11132919/aston-villa-gordon-cowan-alzheimers/ Gordon Cowans diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. He’s a friend of a friend & saw him about 3 or so years ago, & it was so sadly obvious he had some form of difficulty. He’s now brave enough to go public & should be admired. Cracking player for us in his day, & woefully underused by England. Feel slightly hypocritical on having him on my list today.
Garn2 34 Posted March 17, 2020 Twitter awash with rumours that former Cardiff City stalwart Peter Whittingham has died aged 35, apparently after falling down the stairs. Seems to have originated from this thread on the Cardiff City forum. Nothing official but would be up there as one of the weirdest hoaxes...

Everyone dying now people will wonder if it's coronavirus, but We've seen people collapsing around the world from it. It was only a matter of time before someone collapsed in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's if he had it and collapsed from it down the stairs . The odds of him catching it and collapsing at the right time are a million to one. It's more likely – if this even happened – that he was drunk or tripped on something. Stairs kill plenty of healthy people.
