The Weiss family are bloody game at naming folk. There's Czechoslovakian international (and Olympic silver medalist in 1964) Vladimir Weiss.

His son, Vladimir Weiss, became somewhat better known as a Czech/Slovak international in the 90s, and later manager of Slovakia, Georgia and Artmedia Bratislava (but I can't recall them doing anything of note when he was in charge in 2005...).

And his grandson, Vladimir Weiss, played for Man City, played in a World Cup, and could have been a top talent if he'd been arsed. He also played for Rangers. The Old Firm just keep showing up in this bloody post.

Anyhow, the oldest of the three footballing Vladimir Weiss's has died aged 78, and here is his obit in Slovakian. He's dead, he was liked in his homeland, but he's not going to get an English obit.

Christ, practically 15% of the way to a Sir Creep theme team there! :D

Tipping up auld huns #5341

Harold Davis turns 85 on the 10th of May.

More importantly, he's in a care home in Aultbea.

Interestingly, spent two years in hospital due to injuries in the Korean War, so did well to go on and have the career he did.

Notes for Sir Creep: Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is better known as former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce, the first man to captain an English side to the league and Cup double in 100 years back in the 90s. His mum will get a "Bruce mourns mum" QO in the same way the mum of some nobody who was in charge of Villa for 5 games wont.

Steve Bruce is grieving after the death of his mother, Sheenagh.

Update on him..

Riddled with dementia and had a broken hip in April after a fall.

What's that old stat on survival rates on over 80's and broken hips?

* aye Murray Walker disproves that rule, but % is fucking high from memory.

Zhang Ouying, a chinese football player who played in two Olympic Games and three FIFA world cups, 42 years old, has been diagnosed with lung cancer:

Zhang Ouying is a woman and played in women's teams, so I doubt her death is going to receive a tenth of the coverage a male player of such stature would get.

She now teaches football in San Diego and her nickname is "Coach O".

Fringe research, but here it goes:

A QO source says that prospective Sunderland Owner Stewart Donald agrees to sell Eastleigh FC:

And the following article from the Daily Echo says that Eastleigh chief executive Mark Jewell has been ill lately:

Me too.

A fit 37 year old male drives to drop wean off at school.

No wonder the obesity crisis in children.

And then boots it in high powered motor into a poor workman.

Fuck him. No loss.

Further update on Davis, I think he may go even afore Hubbard.

He got 67 birthday cards from huns, lol at the irony, but it was the wife that wrote the thank you note.

He's not up to it.

I may take a quick trip to Aultbea tomorrow just to shout 'BOOOOO'.

Serie D footballer Federico Zini, who was only 25 but had still found time to play in Malta, the Phillipines, Bulgaria's second division and Mongolia before returning to Italy, has killed his wife and taken his own life in a murder-suicide.

As said previously, never trust a footballer who has played in that many irrelevant countries.
