Philippe Redon, who managed Cameroon to fourth place at the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations and Liberia to within a point of the World Cup in 2002, has died aged 69.

He would also manage US Creteil twice and also RC Lens, as a player he played for Rennes, Red Star Saint-Ouen, PSG, Bordeaux, Laval, Rouen, Saint-Etienne and finally Creteil

He also had a brief spell in Tahiti playing for Papeete.

Jacques Crevoisier, who was Gérard Houllier's assistant at Liverpool between 2000 and 2005 has died aged 72 of cardiac arrest.

One missed from last year

 

Tributes have been paid to ‘brave’ former Bristol City midfielder Jon Economou, who has died after a six-year battle with cancer.

Economou, who played more than 70 times for the Robins in the 1980s,died on October 11, a fortnight shy of his 58th birthday.

Former english football player and coach Paul Shrubb has died of motor neurone disease aged 64. Amongst other teams he has played for Brentford, Fulham and Woking.
