Carlos Luis Morales, who had 40 caps for Ecuador in an international career that lasted from 1987 through to 1999 has died of cardiopulmonary arrest aged 55.

He represented the national side at three Copa America tournaments in 1987, 1989 and 1995 and during his club career, he played for Barcelona [Not that one] for ten years until 1993 before leaving for Argentine side Independiente.

After leaving Independientehe signed for LDU Portoviejo before returning to Barcelona then moving on again to another big Ecuadorian side in Emelec, he then joined Chileans Palestino before finishing his playing career at lower-league sides ESPOLI and Santa Rita.

Emeka Mamale, who played for the Democratic Republic of Congo at three African Nations Cups in 1996 [under the name of Zaire], 1998 and 2000 [as Congo DR], has died aged 42.

 

A striker, his career was nomadic, taking him to clubs in South Africa, South Korea, Israel, Belgium and Angola as well as his homeland.

Former Irish international, Arsenal assistant manger and Northampton Town player & manager Theo Foley, has died age 83.

 

He was George Graham's assistant when Arsenal won the title in 1988-89.

The poor lad never played first team football for Forest, let alone was one of their star players. Hasnt even got a Wiki page. Tragic ending though.

Played alongside Ian St John at Motherwell and was involved in Hibs' European victory over Real Madrid. Later became assistant to Bertie Auld at Hibs.

Very well thought of everywhere he went, particularly at my club, Partick Thistle. I am good friends with his grandson.

Apparently Dawson was the last man to score a hat trick In the FA Cup Semi- Final hopefully one of the Man United players can repeat the fear on Sunday against Chelsea in honour of Dawson, however unlikely.

Frank Worthington clearly hasn't been on the after-dinner circuit or anywhere else during Covid

 

We discussed him a few years back, anyone know the current state of play regarding his Alzheimer's (which his daughter said he had and he immediately denied)?

Former footballer  Don Townsend  who played for Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace  amongst other teams has died aged 89/90.

Age varies between twitter and wikipedia.

Former Brighton & Hove Albion chairman Greg Stanley has died. came in for a lot of stick when the Goldstone ground was sold with the club left homeless for years.
