Sad news indeed.

I didn't want it to be true. Character and a half.

He was indeed

Away from football a really nice guy

Goalkeeper Colin Withers reported dead:

One of those who played for both Birmingham City and Aston Villa!

I'll add...DDP pick.

Unfortunately Villa already played last night and don’t have any more games until 2021, so no chance of an obit coming up in a match report.

That looks like such a "gets a QO via BBC end-of-year round-up" to me. Let's see, maybe tomorrow will be a slow news day.

Speaking of, where is this bloody BBC Famous Deaths in 2020 reel?

They used to post it on Christmas Day.

Sports is already done. The "In memoriam" should either come today or tomorrow.

It arrived on 31st December last year. Very last minute.

That's the news page bit. If you mean their annual memorial video its on Iplayer now.

345 days between death and QO, will this record ever be defeated? It also means January 2018 is now officially the biggest month in DDP history (38 deaths).

I waited 345 days for Nigel Sims in 2018, so I hope they might be a bit quicker with Colin Withers.  Already submitted in my 2021 entry so a sub will come into play.

Focuses pretty much solely on TV/film so no LOTL saves...

I wonder if the Committee had Doc on their 2021 list and are having to revise it.

Bloody hell, I didn't realise he was 92! He was always rather rude about Leeds Utd on the radio so I have ambivalent feelings but RIP.

Gabby Agbonlahor only has nice things to say about Leeds at the moment

You must love him
