He scored 155 goals in 360 odd appearances which is more than decent and was top scorer with 27 in season 1960/61. alt obits guy 3,091 Posted October 17, 2022 Twitter reporting the death of former League of Ireland player Ricky McEvoy at age 55. He played with the Shamrock Rovers in the 1980s and 90s. Death seems to have gone unnoticed until now (his Wiki page was only updated today), probably over the confusion with Dave Smith (b. 1933, wiki) who also died in September. He left Japan to sign for MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps, scoring three times in 16 games before returning to Japan to play for Sanfrecce Hiroshima, scoring four times in 30 games. A loan spell at lower-league Renofa Yamaguchi followed, where he scored four times in 27 games before leaving Japan again to sign for A-League side Brisbane Roar.
