My daughter loved Meg & Mog she read them so much the books needed repairing. Sad loss but unique DDP points.

Some local obits coming through now:
ABC 6Ohio State NewsFan Nation.

Reading up on just how much he did for digital art, he's someone who may skim a QO in a month or two.

Juhani Palmu, 77, wants to keep painting as he has commissions that he "has" to do. Wants a prosthesis for this purpose.

This guy is already quite a miracle. He has been in a wheelchair for over ten years due to a ministroke, heart problems, diabetes and on top of all this he has battled urethral cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and survived two house fires. And still keeps smoking in bed.

Instagram (and at least one Chinese-language Taiwanese site) reporting the death of Chinese-Indonesian billionaire art collector Budi Tek. He was 65. Tek had battled end-stage pancreatic cancer for a number of years. Earlier this month, he'd donated contemporary Chinese works to the Lacma, including some by Ai Weiwei.

His lungs are in poor condition, however he is fully vaccinated.

Nancy Lane, a trailblazing corporate executive who promoted the works of Black artists as a champion of the Studio Museum of Harlem for a half-century, died on March 28 at her home in Manhattan. She was 88.

Ms. Lane was recruited to the board of the Studio Museum in 1973, five years after it was founded. She was the chairwoman from 1987 to 1989 and remained on the board as its longest-serving member until her death.

Daniel Pontet, an artist and activist who was known for his large-scale expressive works but also his sketches of some of South Florida’s biggest courtroom dramas, has died.

Pontet, who moved to Florida from Uruguay in the early 1990s, had sketched scenes of major federal and international criminal court trials, worked as a political cartoonist for newspapers and magazinesand had become a staple of Hollywood’s monthly ArtWalk event, where he would often paint with his feet to the beat of local drummers and other musicians.

Longtime Phoenix muralist and beloved community member Pablo Luna has died. He was 52.

Pablo Luna checked into the hospital on Feb. 24 with undiagnosed diabetes. After his diagnosis of diabetic ketoacidosis, Luna suffered a heart attack and battled pneumonia.

After being hospitalized for 55 days, his heart stopped at 1:33 a.m. on April 19, ending his battle with diabetes, double pneumonia and Valley Fever,

Not sure if anyone else has ever had a DL Cup entry die of Valley Fever.  I’ll claim it as a first.

Juhani Palmu hospitalised again (around the fourth time this year) around a week ago with chest pain and kidney failure. He's also been put into a nursing home against his wife's will. Tough guy, he's got atleast 3 or 4 different serious diseases but seems to be indestructible and survives every hospitalisation
