Official confirmation

Is that searchable? 'Recent updates' or summat, and how would you know what the update is without opening each one? The whole premise that you can open up Wiki and determine an edit was made re: a death seems elusive to my tiny brain. Enlighten me.

Well, if you don't believe the Washington Post, then I don't know what will: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/12/13/thomas-schelling-has-died-his-ideas-shaped-the-cold-war-and-the-world/

To answer your question... it's really quite simple. Make yourself an account on Wikipedia and then you'll be able to select "watch" on a particular page. It will be added to a page called your "watchlist" which will show you a list of all changes made to pages you're currently watching. I'm watching about 4000 names at the moment. All are 85+

FOUR names...

Actor Kevin O'Morrison allegedly died yesterday aged 100. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_O%27Morrison

Someone claiming to be his granddaughter claims William Usery Jr. who was US Secretary of Labor (1976-1977), died December 10th aged 93. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Usery_Jr.

WWII hero John Moffat apparently died yesterday in Perth aged 97. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Moffat_(Royal_Navy_officer)

And the Rev. Fred Secombe, who was Harry Secombe's brother and a prominent priest in his own right, dead at 97 on December 8th. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Secombe

All awaiting obits. Moffat is a DDP pick.

Kevin O'Morrison is listed as alive again. So, was it a hoax then?

Lol... NO. That's not how Wikipedia works. If something is added and unsourced, it is supposed to be removed immediately. Particularly claims of death.

A man on Twitter who claims to be the nephew of Kevin O'Morrison tweeted about it a few days back. I'm convinced he's dead. Whether it will be covered by any press remains to be seen. (think Sally Sweetland).

Dunno if he is dead, but of vague notability is that he is (was) one of only two living centenarian NCAA champions, both of whom were collegiate wrestlers, both of whom were born on the same day.

Louis Harris was a fairly big name within psephology so if he has snuffed it, there'll be a notice before Christmas.

I confess that I had to look that up.

Seriously, its stretching the whole credibility ( if there is any ) of Death Listing.

What next? An expert in CorporateTax??

Come on, some of this shite is getting beyond a joke.

:D It's a daft name for people like Peter Snow. He might show up on the Deathlist one year, or not.

Gonna set up a psephologist theme team in 2017. Peter Kellner, Michael Barone, Nate Silver, Mike Smithson for captain?

In future I'll remember to just say "He's big in the polling world so political geeks are likely to get him an obit" instead...

Peter Snow has been mercilessly tossed off to one side by Jeremy Vine.

Anyway, he is a broadcaster first and foremost

What's the name of that absolutely ancient psephologist that the Beeb wheel out every time there's an election on? (Not John Curtice... I know he looks like a skeleton, but he isn't actually that old)
