Basil Yamey (wiki), South African economist, supposedly dead at 101.

Awarded a CBE in 1972, so should obit somewhere.

Not an obituary, but clearer proof Basil Yamey has passed.

Obituary for Miller.

Still no official confirmation and wikipedia now says he is still alive. Then again he should know if his own cousin has died, so it's all very strange !

That it is. Will continue looking for information to clear up the confusion.

I still believe he will obit somewhere, likely The Times, but in the meantime a reliable source in the form of a mention of his death from the Institute of Economic Affairs.

Thanks, and a thank too to Ulitzer who apparently posted it a few weeks ago but I'd have missed it without both of you.

Italian-born American film and television actor Antony Carbone (wiki) allegedly died in October at 95.

Recognisable from the horror film The Pit and the Pendulum and from his appearances in The Twilight Zone, amongst other things.

IMDb has his DOB as 1927, so may have been 93. Though they also had a date of death for him listed for years on their site, before finally scrubbing it after realising it wasn't true.

Guess the only way we'll find out if he's truly gone this time is if he appears on Equity's next In Memoriam list. Speaking of... anyone got access to the latest issue? Would be good to have a flick through and see who's died off radar!

My Gawd, they died years ago

And

Variety/theatre types with no known IMDB page.

Who the fuck?

It's a fun read if you have plenty of time.

Caren Marsh Doll (wiki), stand-in for Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz (1939) and the last surviving adult cast member from the film, allegedly dead at 101.

Also appeared as an extra in Gone with the Wind (1939). Her sister Dorothy Morris (1922–2011) was also an actress during Hollywood's Golden era.

Are they any kids left? They were not many in the film.

Yup. At least 6 of the child actresses who played munchkins are still with us. The film studio couldn’t find enough dwarf actors to fulfil the village scenes so they put around a dozen child actresses in the background to compensate.

The IP who added the death date to Caren Marsh Doll's page also attempted to Wiki-revive Jerry Maren last month. So I'm wary right now unless further evidence crops up.

You are quite right.

The sort of thing I normally check too. :banghead:

So still no geezers over 100 years old dead in December? That's a scandal!
