The photo says he is standing ate Pte Aux Barques lighthouse area, just purely FYI that is 'the tip of the thumb' of Michigan and very easy to spot on a map, or from space for that matter. And now you know...

Samuel Willenberg, last survivor of the Treblinka death camp revolt, has died at 93. http://www.haaretz.com/jewish/news/.premium-1.704370

One of those unique DDP hits if there's a QO.

G'Day all.

I Hope that the other Australians on the forum will agree with me when I say (write) that remaining Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels of WWII should be recognized on this thread. Most of the Britishers probably don't know what I'm on about so here is a link here to help explain it.

They contributed to the Australian war effort in the South Pacific in a crucial way helping to halt the Japanese overland invasion Of P.N.G. A fact which has only recently been acknowledged by the government as of April this year. Old news I know but I'm rarely up to date at the best of times!.

The oldest surviving Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel is Oviri Ondeki (102)

Last alleged one has died http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-03-07/fuzzy-wuzzy-angel-faole-bokoi-dies/7226102

1. "Faole Bokoi" is a funny fucking way to spell Oviri Ondeski.

2. Funny, the linked article re: Bokoi never mentions Bokoi's age.....anywhere. Very queer.

3. I click-baited that link expecting to see Ondeski and I was loading up for bear to yell 'bullshit' when it said he was 109 years old. Do you people have any idea how hard it is to get pre-worked up into a lather only to be so disappointed? Prolly not, it's a thing reserved for us argumentative assholes.

Paul Royle, WW2 great escaper has died in Australia (reported on BBC this morning)

So we can therefore establish it takes 62 years for one man to tunnel from Germany to Australia. :grave:

Article here on the last toast of the Doolittle Raiders, of which three of four survivors have attended. Probably not really UK-obit worthy but a fair punt for your US-based pools.

David Thatcher dies aged 94, leaving Richard Cole as the last survivor.

One of the last Shakers in Maine has died. Sister Frances Carr, 89, died Monday afternoon, according to a post on the website of the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in New Gloucester. She had experienced a brief battle with cancer.

"Only two Shakers – Brother Arnold Hadd and Sister June Carpenter – remain."

One will be the winner chicken dinner for this thread -- so giving an early Shaker Shout-Out and mark and remember 2018 Possibilities.

Only Dick Churchill from that famed escapade continues to breath, and is - therefore - hugely obitable when he goes.

Dick Churchill reportedly dead and why make it up?
