Daffney Unger, former WCW/TNA wrestler, was live on Instagram moments ago threatening suicide. This sounds incredibly serious and tragic.

Sad but not unexpected - Daffney, who was genuinely widely loved among her fellow wrestlers, suffered a horrific head injury in a match in TNA with an untrained wrestler (so horrific she won an unsafe working environment lawsuit, in pro-wrestling) and her mood/interactions completely changed ie probable permanent brain damage ala Michael Hutchence.

Apparently the apartment manager guy was refusing cops access to her flat due to "rights". Given she turned her phone off and wasn't in the apartment many of her friends expected (so the police had to track her down with help of her family), this isn't a Michael Elgin cry for help situation so hopefully there's not the expected ending when announced.

Oh, that's really sad. Saw the videos on YouTube, and it's heartbreaking.

Jim Ross looked really bad/unwell on latest episode of Dark Side of the Ring.

He looked fine on Dynamite.

This obit missed a few weeks back.

Ron McFarlane, a veteran wrestler who teamed with Jerry Brown in the Alabama Chain Gang, has died. He was 66.

McFarlane had battled cancer for over a decade, and died on August 29, 2021.

Not sure if this was mentioned. But on the previous season of Dark Side of the Ring, Darren "Puke" Drozdov who unfortunately was paralysed in 1999 during a botched powerbomb was interviewed. He looked in rough shape compared to a shoot interview done in the late 2000s. His speech was slurred. But it looks like he's regained use of his arms & upperbody though. (There's a shot of him petting his dog & he raised his arms up a few times while speaking,) so that's good to see.

Haven't thought about Ross McCullough in 15 years. Would piss myself laughing if the man who finally brought down the McMahon empire was Sakoda though.

Ryan Sakoda reportedly dead: https://wrestletalk.com/news/former-wwe-star-sakoda-passes-away-aged-46/

Apparently as long ago as 2 September!

Reggie Parks, a Canadian-born wrestler who had a three-decade career, from the mid-1950s to the mid-1980s, where he fought in over 3,000 matches, with his greatest success coming in the 1970s, has died. He was 87. Parks post-career venture was designing title belts, for which he was renown.  They included the winged eagle design for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, used between February 1988 and March 1998.
