Fewer 'amusing' Gifs and more writing content might actually make you look a bit intelligent.

Why would you assume that's my intention?

Katherine Jenkins just skyped Vera's daughter (who was sitting in her home office) on the One Show - no appearance of Vera through.

Dame Vera Lynn breaks her own chart record to become the oldest singer to achieve a UK top 40 album  aged 103.Obviously recent events have bolstered her popularity and interest in her music across the board.

We'll Meet Again goes to 55 in the singles chart as well.

It's her 11th entry in the Top 100 (*and it's previous incarnations as Top 12, Top 20, Top 30, Top 40 and Top 75 for the pedants...)

Man, we've had some challenges this year but the country is truly done for now!

A big hit for the DL, as this makes 3 of the top 5 and 4 of the top 7 who have died this year.  And we're only in June.  It's another hit on my Top 50 too, although picking someone 103 years old isn't exactly a brilliant pick.

She was conspicuously absent doing any live broadcast interviews during VE Day celebrations despite promises beforehand. I thought then she must be closer to the exit door than we'd imagined (I assumed she'd go on for at least another year before that)

Big shocker ! After her recent chart hit and rallying the country   over corona virus I was certain she would last a year or 2 at least. Really is the death of a legend this time Dame Vera R.I.P

It's the first time that the person in the no 4 slot has died since Charles Lane in 2007 so a breakthrough for deathlist in more ways than one !

An absolute legend. A very unique ,special, dignified, graceful and all round classy lady who deserves all the praise and high compliments now being heaped on her.

May she rest in peace.
