Michael Klenfner

He is credited as the inspiration behind the Blues Brothers being transformed from a few sketches on "Saturday Night Live" into Grammy Award-nominated recording artists. He died last Tuesday aged 62 from complications of congestive heart failure.

He also "later helped steer Cher's comeback with her 1998 hit 'Believe' ", but maybe we can forgive him that!

The actress Jill Balcon has died at the age of 84. The daughter of Ealing Studios supremo Michael Balcon, she was probably best known as the wife of Poet Laureate (and crime fiction author) Cecil Day-Lewis and father of Daniel.

Heinz Edelmann

"Graphic designer Heinz Edelmann, best known for his work as art director of the 1968 Beatles film "Yellow Submarine," has died, his former employer said. He was 75"

"He is generally credited as the art director, but in fact he created a lot of the characters and was deeply involved in developing the story itself."

A lifetime of abstinence didn't do much to prolong the life of Prohibition Party candidate Gene Amondson, who stood for President in 2004 and 2008 . He's just died of a stroke, aged 65.

Bobby Knoxall, chosen by Grobler on the DDP & mentioned in despatches here by DDT before has died. Now, like Arundell & Joyce, the wait is on for a "proper" obit.

Does the Morning Star count as an obit source? :banghead:

Actually that one there is the Morning Starr, not to be confused with the Socialist publication The Morning Star

Saddened to hear of the death of John Ryan, creator of Capt. Pugwash, Sir Prancelot and Mary, Mungo & Midge.

Many happy hours glued to the box when I was very young! :banghead:

Norbert Rondel. Not famous in any sense of the word, but he lived a colourful life which has produced a really good obituary from The Guardian.

WWE star Damien Steele died in his sleep Wednesday. He complained earlier of feeling unwell.... another long autopsy in sight?

Bit unfair calling him a star. He was a guy they took on, and made one jobbing appearance on a show. It'd be like calling that prelimanary MMA guy who died last year, who appeared in one show, a top UFC star.

Yeah OK but he still starred in WWE regardless. Not really a big deal. It's all staged sh*te anyway

Prolific Northern Irish actor Harry Towb has died aged 83.

Equally at home on stage and screen, he was recently seen in "Eastenders" as Janine Butcher's elderly fiancé. His widow is Diana Hoddinott, best known for her role as Jim Hacker's wife in "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister".

One of those familiar faces difficult to put a name to, I see he also made appearances in "Doctor Who" in 1969 and 1971.

I must be putting the kiss of death on people. I was thinking about him a couple of days ago. He played the 'English' tourist in a Scottish advert for beer (Youngers Tartan ale?) in the 70s.

Other kiss of death was Harry Patch, thought of him this morning, then read in the afternoon he'd died.

How much will you give me to think of Maggie Thatcher?
