Its 6 years since Udo Jürgens finally walked away, aged 80. He represented Austria three times at the Eurovision Song Contest with his own compositions, coming sixth with Warum, nur Warum, in 1964, fourth with Sag ihr, ich lass sie grüßen in 1965 and won with Merci, Chérie in 1966. He also wrote Shirley Bassey's 1961 number one Reach for the Stars.
