Peter Lorre died today in 1964...

Lorre_Peter.jpg

I was trying to explain to a bunch of people the other day who Peter Lorre was. The best response I got was I explained to one person that he was "the guy who gives Rick the documents at the beginning of Casablanca".

Wouldn't have been so depressing if they weren't all older than me.

Okay, I've had my pretentious moment. Back to the "Ideas and Possibilities" and "CPDP" threads.

Should have done his voice, then everyone would know who he was! ;)

I did... in fact the reason it all came up was because I did his voice and they all got a really confused look on their faces. I'm not bad at either; there's always been a few people who get any voice I do... ;)

Its a sad day for civilisation if people cannot recognise Peter Lorre, voice and all... ;)

Had he been a member of today's generation he would have made a passable Gollum.

25 years today since Marvin Gaye was shot by his dad.

Which reminds me, his first wife Anna Gordy is still alive (born 1922). Any news on her health wise?

Scott Joplin died of syphilis-in-da-brain in 1917 and Eleanor of Aquitaine died of something equally fatal in 1204, so wikipedia tells me.

I must be missing the point of this thread.
